Well another year of Music 101 sponsored by 89.5 The Drive will wrap up Jan 5th 2014. After having amazing guests like 5440
and more…. I asked the bands who we should get as a guest next. Said the Whale was the most popular choice, so ……….. Tyler Bancroft and guests will be on hand this Jan 5th at 2pm. For all Music 101 contestants. Andy from http://www.wearethecity.ca will be on hand as well. That's 2 very cool Canadian bands.

This will be a series of concerts at our new studio in the Chilliwack River Valley. The songwriter circle is a great format to showcase a variety of songwriters. Hosted by Jeff Bonner, the next show at 7pm Dec 6th will feature:
Matt Lowen - A clever and witty combination of Bob Dylan and Tom Petty with a little Chilliwack sweet corn
Rick Genge - owner of Spiderlodge Studio he is submersed in music writing, playing , teaching and producing.
Quinn Patterson - a gifted guitarist , songwriter and member of The Colebrook Shephards and Tractorgrease Folk.

89.5 The Drive has sponsored another year of Music Business 101 and it keeps getting better. Over the first 5 years we've had many the likes of 5440, Mother Mother, The Odds, Steve Dawson, Barney Bentall and many more lend a hand to up and coming local musicians. This year on Oct 27th Tom Wilson (Junkhouse,Blackie and the Rodeo Kings) will be on hand along with Bob D'Eith president of Music BC to help guide aspiring musicians. 12 local acts will be picked to take part and all of them will receive a free live performance video courtesy of Tractorgrease Multimedia. Submissions are open until Oct 19th at the link below:
